The National Barn Alliance co-sponsored its 2008 Annual Conference with the Historic Barn and Farm Foundation of Pennsylvania. The three-day event featured great old Pennsylvania barns and the people who know their stories.
The Conference began the evening of Thursday, June 5 with a Welcome Reception at the PA German Cultural Heritage Center. The Friday session offered two tracks of workshops and speakers on historic barns plus a keynote address by PA barn authority Robert Ensminger, author of The Pennsylvania Barn. Saturday was devoted to an all-day barn tour of the historic Oley Valley with expert commentary on the history, geology and buildings of this scenic area.
